We’re thrilled to be able to partner with Floor & Decor for a one-of-a-kind project in the heart of Brooklyn, New York City! This will mark their FIRST store in the Big Apple, and it’s packed with unique challenges and innovations.
Not Your Average Location: Breaking conventions, this store isn’t located on the ground level. It’s perched on the second floor, making it a truly unique shopping destination.
Project Quick Facts
- First in NYC: That’s right! This marks Floor & Decor’s debut in New York City, bringing their exceptional range of flooring and decor options to the heart of Brooklyn.
- The store boasts 9ft ceilings, adding an extra touch of spaciousness to your shopping experience.
- The J&J Retail team handled the complete installation, including product fixtures, merchandising, branding, graphics, and more.
- The historical building was originally built for the U.S. Navy supplying ships for the duration of World War 1. In 2011, significant renovations transformed the building, creating the foundation for the modern shopping experience enjoyed today.
Challenges
- Transportation of materials from the ground floor was coordinated with other contracting teams on-site sharing the available freight elevator.
- Pre-existing building columns lead to real-time changes & updates to the floor plan.
- Working with a unique floor plan that sets this location apart from typical Floor & Decor retail stores.
